Introduction

Gday Everybody,


Let me begin this blog with a little introduction about myself.  My name is Simon, I am a 30 year old full time student at Deakin University, located in Melbourne, Australia.  Presently I am studying a double degree, and am in my second year of a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary)/Arts with the intention of becoming a high school teacher once completing my degree.  More specifically my intention is to become an english and media studies teacher, two subjects which have always been of particular interest to myself and thus seemed to be a good fit for my university studies.

Given that I was a child of the 80's I have grown up surrounded by rapidly expanding technology and ever since owning a Nintendo Entertainment System and a PC in my early childhood I have developed a keen interest in gaming and technology.  My intention is that this interest will be reflected within this blog ( as should be suggested by it's title ) as well as relating this to my future field of choice as a teacher.  Living in an increasingly global society has continued to affect the way education is approached in Australia and this is becoming an issue of increasing interest over time.
